Per 5 mL Triprolidine HCl 1.25 mg, pseudoephedrine HCl 30 mg, dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of cold & dry thickly cough.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 5 mL 3 times daily. Childn 6-12 yr 2.5 mL 3 times daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe HTN, heart disease & DM. Concomitant treatment w/ MAOIs.
Special Precautions
HTN, heart disorders, thyroid disease, glaucoma, prostate hypertrophy, emphysema. Patients w/ impaired liver & kidney functions, DM, increased intraocular tension. Debility & hypoxia patients. May cause resp & CNS depression in large doses or in patients w/ resp disorders (eg, asthma, emphysema). Discontinue if insomnia, palpitation & dizziness occur. May impair the ability to drive the vehicle or operate the machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, nausea, constipation, dizziness, dry mouth, nasal dryness, dry throat, tremor, insomnia, hallucination, restlessness, blurred vision, urinary retention.
Drug Interactions
Decongestants, TCAs, appetite suppressants, psychostimulants eg, amphetamine, MAOIs, bretylium, bethanidine, guanethidine, debrisoquine, methyldopa, α- & β-adrenergic blockers, furazolidone, alcohol, other sedative agents.
